Updated Macromedia Flash Player

Active X control resolves streaming issues

Issue
When loading media into Macromedia Flash Player 6, the media continues to load even if Macromedia Flash Player 6 makes additional requests for media (i.e. .swf, .jpg or .mp3 files), or if the user leaves the web page.

This issue affects loading various media types, including:
· Sounds
· Video
· Images
· Other Flash movies

Reason
This issue only occurs in early versions of the Macromedia Flash Player 6 ActiveX Control, available for Microsoft Internet Explorer on Microsoft Windows platforms. Macromedia has released an updated version of Macromedia Flash Player 6 (version 6,0,29,0) which resolves this issue.

Solution
The latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player is available from the Macromedia Flash Player Download Center.

Note: To insure best performance developers are advised to use the latest CODEBASE tag to direct Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows to install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX Control.

For complete instructions see What effect does the version have in the codebase attribute of the OBJECT tag? (TechNote 12685).
